The Quinta do Crasto Selection Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made with olives of the Cobrançosa and Madural varieties and presents a fresh aroma, with notes of fresh olives, grass, and apple, being slightly spicy with notes of olive leaf and a very balanced and smooth aftertaste.
Virgin olive oil is obtained from the fruit of the olive tree solely by mechanical or other physical processes, under conditions that do not alter the oil and which have not undergone treatments other than washing, decantation, centrifugation, and filtration, to the exclusion of oils obtained using solvents, with adjuvants of chemical or biochemical action or by re-esterification processes and any mixture with oils of another nature. After guaranteeing their genuineness, virgin olive oils are classified according to their quality and may be classified in the categories of "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" or "Virgin Olive Oil".
Thus, the "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" category includes oils in which the quality is superior, possessing an intense taste and smell of healthy olives, acidity equal to or less than 0.8% and presenting no organoleptic defects.
