The Chivas Brothers' history began in a grocery store in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1801. In recognition of the reputation and quality of their business, James Chivas and his business partner Charles Stewart is awarded the first of several Royal Assurances by Queen Victoria as suppliers of goods and provisions to the Royal Household. James and John Chivas become pioneers in the art of selecting and blending various aged malt and grain whiskies in the Chivas House style - smooth, rich, and with an excellent harmony of flavours. This tradition has been passed down through the generations and has been carefully preserved to this day.

Chivas Regal 25 Years Old was launched in 1909 as the world's first luxury whisky. This exceptional 25 Year Old Blend is shipped to New York, where it is enthusiastically received among Manhattan's social elite. In this new era of exuberance, Chivas Regal 25-year-old fame quickly spreads across North America. In 1949, Chivas Regal 12 Years goes international, supported by exceptional advertising campaigns in publications such as The New Yorker. The Chivas brand expands, and within three decades becomes the global icon it is today.
