The young Cognac Claude Cognac Chatelier is immediately transferred to Limousin oak barrels, which have a capacity of no more than 350 litres. This wood naturally, has a high level of tannin which makes it ideal for cognac ageing. After about a year, older barrels with softer tannins now welcome our Eaux-de-vie. These barrels provide the perfect environment for the cognac to transform into a well-balanced and rich drink, without the overpowering woody flavour.
Cognac is a wine spirit produced in the Cognac demarcated region of France. Wine spirit is a drink produced through the process of distilling wine. It is considered one of the best-distilled drinks, being one of the three emblematic demarcated areas in the world for the production of vinic brandy, the others being Armagnac and Lourinhã.
