概要

Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial vintage 2010, is a red wine produced from the Tempranillo and Mazuelo grape varieties from a vineyard planted in 1966.

After separate alcoholic fermentation for 11 days and ageing in French and American oak barrels for 26 months, the blend is made in a proportion of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Mazuelo.

Thus, it presents itself in a brick red colour with aromas of dried cherries, orange peel and earthy elements, harmonised with vanilla and black tea notes. In the mouth it reveals a balanced acidity and round tannins, finishing long, persistent and seductive.

Marqués de Murrieta has been led, since 1983 by the Cebrián-Sagarriga family, and its origin is, directly, linked with the origin of the Rioja wine region, when its founder, Don Luciano Murrieta, decides to apply in wine production, the techniques learned in Bordeaux, thus creating the first Rioja wine in 1852, intending to last over time. Thus, he fulfilled the objective of exporting the mythical 1852 vintage to Mexico and Cuba, initiating the first wine exports from the Rioja region and the Marqués de Murrieta.
