Zacapa Edición Negra is sourced from a blend of rums between 6 and 24 years old and is inspired by the natural elements of Guatemala, including the dark fire of its volcanoes. Edición Negra is aged in selected barrels, including double toasted American oak, creating a rich, dark rum with an intense smoky aroma.
Rum Zacapa was first created in 1976 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Zacapa, a town in Guatemala, located approximately 112 km from Guatemala City, where this Rum is produced. It is made from the first pressing of virgin sugar cane, aged using the Sistema Solera method and then selected and blended by Master Blender Lorena Vásquez.
