The House of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a young Scot born in Perth who decided to invest £300, lent by his father, in the creation of a business trading Port and Sherry wines. Always a pioneer, Sandeman was the first Company to brand a fire cask with its name, guaranteeing the quality of the wine it sold. For over two centuries, Sandeman has based its success on a rare capacity for innovation and expertise passed from generation to generation.
Nowadays, led by the Portuguese company Sogrape Vinhos, Sandeman clearly assumes itself as "the" worldwide brand of Port and Sherry and proudly signs: "Sandeman, Famous for Pleasure".
