An instrument that allows the bottle neck to be cut through thermal shock. Convenient to open bottles of very old Port wine, whose cork is not in a position to be removed with a common corkscrew. The lower end of the tongs, after being heavily heated, hugs the neck of the bottle just below the stopper, for a few moments. Afterwards, remove the tongs and pour cold water over the heated area, which will eventually break. Carefully remove the part of the neck with the cork and the wine is ready to serve.
