Tsipouro is a traditional bagasse brandy from the Macedonia region of Greece. Tsipouro is different from other spirits as it is from the bagasse of white grapes, such as Rodiri Athiri Assyrtiko and distilled twice. After the first distillation it is sometimes flavored with aniseed. In addition to Anis, the secret blend of seeds and herbs, gives each tsipouro a distinctive flavor and characteristic aroma. Its unique and fine taste comes from the "marriage" during the distillation of seeds and aromatic herbs that are chosen with great care at the time of harvest.
