Château du Bernat is a family estate bought in 1962 by the father of the current owner. In 2007, Jean-Philippe Rénier took control of the property located at Jugazan, in Entre-deux Mers (between Garonne and Dordogne). Château du Bernat is situated in lands surrounding by chalky platform cultivated by the Rénier family for generations. Calcareous is an excellent terroir, giving to the Merlot the best condition to express itself. This is how we are producing wines with majority of Merlot in Château du Bernat.
