概要
The history of Grand-Puy-Lacoste is fascinating in many aspects. It is a family saga that dates back to the 16th century. The name Grand-Puy, already mentioned in documents from the Middle Ages, comes from the old term "puy", which means "elevation, small height". True to its name, the vineyard is located on hills with a terroir similar to that of the Médoc's first growths.
Since the 16th century, the property has remained in the hands of a single family, passing from generation to generation in a direct line through marriages, until 1920, before connecting with another family in 1978 - the Borie family.
Currently, the story continues with the Borie family as owners and managers of Grand-Puy-Lacoste, maintaining the family tradition and excellence in wine production.
