The Espumante Vértice Gouveio was prepared strictly according to the classic method, from a selection of grapes of the Gouveio variety, traditionally planted on the fresh and high slopes of the Alto Douro. It has a very fine bubble and a very elegant and delicate aroma, reminiscent of quince, apple, with mineral and lime notes. The foam melts in the mouth, which contrasts with the aroma by its great austerity and vigour, without ever losing elegance. It is a fresh sparkling wine, excellent to accompany a meal.
Caves Transmontanas are based their notoriety and particularity on the fact that they produce, exclusively, Premium category sparkling wines. The company started its activity in the 1980s, with an ambitious project to produce top-quality sparkling wines in the Douro region, produced by the Classic Method, and later also invested in the production of still wines.
Located in Alijó, it benefits from the Mediterranean micro-climate of the Cima Corgo sub-region, producing not only sparkling wines with the right freshness and aromatic profile but also dense and complex wines.
