The wines of Quinta do Infantado are produced, aged, and bottled at the Quinta, located on the north bank of the Douro, near Pinhão, in the sub-region of Gontelho, long known for the excellence of its vineyards. At the end of the 19th century, the Quinta was acquired by João Lopes Roseira, an ancestor of the current directors.
Since the acquisition of the property, the Roseira family has progressively increased the area of the vineyards and specialised in the production and ageing of Fine Wines. In 1979, the sale of the first Quinta Ports began, renewing a very old tradition, lost for over 50 years.
The Quinta has around 23 hectares of vineyards, classified with the best existing classification in the Douro Demarcated Region, using this fact as an inspiration to perfect the traditional winemaking techniques in the press and, taking advantage of the excellent grapes produced there, created natural Ports of the highest quality.
