Founded in 1955 under the name Adega Cooperativa da Região do Moscatel de Setúbal (Wine Cooperative of the Setúbal Muscatel Region), it began operating in 1958, with 50 members and a production that did not exceed 1.5 million litres. Nowadays, production exceeds 8 million litres and the winery has the capacity to reach 10 million litres. It is one of the main centres of development of the municipality, which is markedly agricultural and where vines and wine have, for historical reasons, a great relevance.
