1993 Pegos Claros red
Description
Producing wines of recognised quality since 1920, Herdade de Pegos Claros was responsible, in the 1990s, for producing wines that were Portuguese and international references for the best DOC Palmela wines, currently a Protected Designation of Origin. With the standards of excellence of that decade as its benchmark, it continues to produce wines exclusively from old vines planted in sandy soils, many of them centenarian, mostly with the Castelão grape variety, in an area of maritime influence, using the traditional methods of manual harvesting, foot treading, fermentation in an open press and ageing in oak wood.
