The historic Quinta de Roriz has undergone a remarkable qualitative evolution in recent years, reclaiming its position among the leading estates of the Douro and Portugal. Located on the left bank of the Douro River, in a natural amphitheatre with vineyards planted between 125 and 500 metres of altitude, the estate benefits from unique exposure and significant diurnal temperature variation. With over 200 hectares under vine, 42 of which are classified as “A”, it is characterised by predominantly schist soils with traces of tin from former mining activity, contributing to the mineral and structured profile of its wines.
The proximity to the river provides cooler nights during the ripening period, allowing for balanced grape development and resulting in wines of notable aromatic intensity, freshness and distinctive Douro character.
