2011 Château Pavie-Decesse Saint-Émilion red
Description
Located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, Château Pavie-Decesse, purchased by Gérard Perse in 1997, a year before Château Pavie, belongs to the leading group of Saint-Émilion Grands Crus Classé.
The history of Château Pavie-Decesse is inseparable from that of Château Pavie, whose winemaking origins date back to the 4th century. The former property was in fact an integral part of the latter until the end of the 19th century, when Ferdinand Bouffard, who had owned Pavie since 1885, decided to group some plots of land into an independent vineyard, which he then named Pavie-Decesse.
