2011 Luís Pato Vinha Barrosa red
Description
The Luís Pato Vinha Barrosa is an iconic red wine from Bairrada, made exclusively from Baga grapes grown in the historic Vinha Barrosa vineyard, planted before 1920 on clay-limestone soils. Surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forests, this vineyard produces a wine of remarkable character, elegance and outstanding ageing potential. Bottled unfiltered, it may develop a natural sediment as it matures in the bottle.
The history of Luís Pato wines begins when João Pato starts bottling his wines from his vineyard in 1970.
After becoming the first bottling producer in the Bairrada region, after its demarcation, his son Luís Pato continues his father's work and so, in 1980, a new Era in the family business begins.
Currently, the company has 60 hectares of vineyards, distributed between sandy and clay-limestone soils, and a wide range of prestigious wines.
