2015 Ninfa Escolha red
Description
Coming from clay-limestone soils, surrounded by a Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influence, this Ninfa Escolha red wine is produced from the Alfrocheiro and Touriga Nacional grape varieties. After ageing for 10 months in French oak barrels, this wine displays a bright ruby colour, revealing aromas of black fruit, spices, and subtle smokiness, well-integrated in the round, harmonious and full profile.
João Teodósio Matos Barbosa, grandson of the founder of Caves Dom Teodósio, started his project in the production of wines, according to a regime of low intervention and organic production, with the introduction of new grape varieties and new blends.
Acquiring properties in the Tejo and Alto Alentejo regions, his legacy has been expanding with organic wines that are authentic and faithful to their terroir.
