2017 Casa da Passarella Villa Oliveira red
Description
This wine expresses the desire to make a Touriga Nacional from Old Vines. The grapes come from a plot over 80 years old, made up of a mixture of grape varieties. From this highly selective harvest comes a classic Touriga Nacional, where the entire winemaking process has been developed in favour of exceptional raw materials.
This is a producer that has risen from the ashes. It has come to stay and write a new story, but the history of this house is ancient, dating back to the 19th century when it was built. Great wines were born from this house and these vineyards. Who doesn't remember the P63, vinified at the time by José Maria da Fonseca. As fate would have it, it was "abandoned" to the world of wine, leaving only a faint memory of the great wines that were born there. Fate also decided that the new owner would be a man of good taste, with an extreme dedication to doing things well. The new Casa da Passarella was born to write a new chapter in the history of this house and the Dão region. The wines are excellent and are made with rigour and a great desire to do the best.
