Since 1937, the Ramilo family has been dedicated to wine making on the Atlantic Coast between Colares and Mafra, on the portuguese west coast. Four generations later, unwilling to accept the abandonment of local traditions, brothers Pedro and Nuno Ramilo dropped everything and returned to their origins. Facing opposite streams, moving rocks and mountains, they rehabilitated the family estates, saved old vines and replanted new ones. They rescued to oblivion the true vineyards of Colares and the noble grape varieties of the region.
