2018 Caves São Domingos Lopo de Freitas white

Lopo de Freitas white is produced exclusively with Viognier grapes from vineyards planted on sandy-clay soils with excellent sun exposure and located next to the Atlantic. It is a wine with a unique aromatic exuberance, revealing lots of citrus fruit surrounded by delicate floral notes and a slight toastiness. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, with an intense flavour and surprising minerality and balance.

Since 1937, the company Caves do Solar de São Domingos has been producing sparkling wines, old brandies, bagaceira brandies, Bairrada, and Dão wines. Its galleries house more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, many thousands of bottled wines, and hundreds of French oak vats for its famous brandies. The Aguardente Bagaceira "São Domingos", produced in its stills, continues to lead the market with the same quality as ever. The constant innovation of the means of production and vinification has allowed raising the quality and prestige of the house wines, reinforcing the business competitiveness of the São Domingos brand.

The wine tourism is also a winning bet, dazzling thousands of visitors every year by the beauty of the galleries dug into the rock, the millions of bottles, as well as the showroom, salon, and museum with tasting room, being an integral part of the Bairrada Route.
