2019 Spioenkop Johanna Brandt Chenin Blanc Elgin Valley white
Description
Spioenkop Johanna Brandt Chenin Blanc Elgin Valley white is crafted following a minimal intervention philosophy, expressing the purity of Chenin Blanc grown on steep slate terraces at 200–270 metres altitude in the Elgin region.
After a short skin contact, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 11 months of ageing on fine lees in used French oak barrels. The result is a balanced and expressive wine, combining freshness, texture and complexity in an elegant and precise style.
