2020 Castelo de Azurara Alfrocheiro Grande Reserva red
Description
Produced according to a rigorous selection of the finest Alfrocheiro grapes grown on the slopes of the Dão River. It shows a bright ruby colour, with an intense aroma of wild berries and nuances of dried fruit. On the palate, it is rounded, full-bodied, with a long finish.
The Mangualde Cooperative Winery was established in the 1960s, a period marked by the promotion, expansion, and implementation of the cooperative spirit and values in Portugal. Castelo de Azurara embodies the historical identity of the region linked to its monumental heritage, combining the medieval name of the town – Azurara da Beira – with one of the region’s iconic symbols, Our Lady of the Castle. Thus, this cooperative’s wine brand was born.
