Description

Picpoul de Pinet is a white wine obtained from an ancient grape variety from the Languedoc region, cultivated since ancient times on the slopes around the Etang de Thau. Picpoul, also known as "Piquepoul", was so named because it gives you goosebumps on the lips when you drink it, as a sensation of marine acidity is immediately announced. It is young and fresh with citrus and white-fleshed fruit aromas. With subtle notes of lemon and grapefruit, it becomes perfect paired with seafood.

A group of winegrowers united by the same passion and created Vignerons de Florensac, based in the Languedoc region and consisting of 670 hectares, close to the Mediterranean Sea, bordered by the Etang de Thau. The soil is characterised to the north by a vast clay and limestone plateau, and to the south by a plain consisting mainly of sand deposits. The influence of the Mediterranean and the lake provide a temperate climate that is very favourable to the development of aromas, limiting the differences in temperature between day and night during the very dry summer period. The vineyards are cultivated and maintained respecting an ecological approach, where about 50 hectares are already officially integrated into organic farming.
