2023 Max Ferd. Richter Weissburgunder Trocken Pinot Blanc white
Description
The house’s Pinot Blanc was cultivated in 2002, in steep hillsides with slate and pebble soils, with a small percentage of clay. After gentle pressing and partial fermentation in oak barrels, the wine presents a mineral profile with aromas of almond, toffee, and honey. A prime example of the region's excellence, it won first place in its category.
After the first documented purchase of a vineyard parcel in Brauneberg on April 17th, 1643, the company was officially founded in 1680, establishing a winemaking legacy with over 300 years of history. Since then, the family has adhered to the motto: "Great wines are made in the vineyard, not in the cellar." In 1774, an elegant manor house was built, and in 1880, the modern winery was established, housing one of the largest collections of wooden casks in the Mosel region. Today, the company is in its 9th generation, with Constantin MF Richter, from the 10th generation, actively involved in the business since 2012.
