After very long years of aging, Apothéose José Maria da Fonseca, from the Trousseau variety, was in a small barrel with more than 80 years. Only 40 bottles of this precious product were produced, the first (bottle nº2) to be sold by auction and now available at Garrafeira Nacional for all interested parts. The remaining bottles of this fabulous and nectar, according to winemaker Domingos Soares Franco, will go on sale at auction and only at the rate of one a year. The exclusivity of this wine lies in the fact that it is the only Bastardinho de Azeitão with more than 80 years on sale and totally irreplaceable, given its provenance. On the south bank of the Tejo river, between Costa da Caparica and Lavradio, the extraordinary vineyards that gave birth to this and other bastards of the JMF, due to urban pressure, disappeared from the map in the 80's and without these grapes it isn’t possible to produce the Bastardinho de Azeitão , reason why this wine must be appraised with great rigor and solemnity.
