Description

The Quinta do Ortigão, is located in the centre of the city of Anadia, the heart of Bairrada. The Quinta combines tradition, contemporaneity and the vision of Augusto Brandão Alegre. From the beginning, the great concern of the owners was centred on the careful choice and planting of selected grape varieties that would allow the production of wines of great complexity. The white varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Arinto, Bical, and Maria Gomes. As regards red grape varieties, most Bairrada wines are produced from the Baga grape variety, which may be complemented by other three grape varieties of high oenological quality, such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Cabernet Sauvignon. With exceptional quality raw materials, cutting-edge technology, and the know-how of three generations, Quinta do Ortigão has the conditions to impose itself in the wine world and to become a reference of prestige for the region and the country.
