Quinta do Ortigão, is located in the center of Anadia, heart Bairrada. The Estate combines tradition, modernity and the vision that Augusto Brandão Alegre, the first man to produce sparkling wines in Portugal, was able to convey to four generations who have been utterly dedicated to the world of wine. The owners? greatest concern has always been the careful selection and plantation of the best varieties that would make it possible to produce wines of great complexity. With regard to the white varieties, we must point out Sauvignon, Chardonay, Arinto, Bical and Maria Gomes. As far as red wines are concerned, the base varieties of Bairrada wine, Baga, are complemented by three varieties of high oenological quality: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the beginning of 2001, the family decided to create its own estate wine and they built a new and spacious cellar. With resources of exceptional quality, technology and the know-how of three generations, Quinta do Ortigão has all the conditions to become a reference in the world of wine and to become a prestigious reference both for the region and for the country.
