The fusion of the finest Scotch malt whiskies with a carefully chosen variety of ingredients, spices including cinnamon, tangerines, almonds and honey, make Gayla a surprisingly smooth and sweet liqueur, which has earned it the impressive honour of being chosen the best liqueur in the world five times.
Made by whisky merchant Ronald Morrison, the recipe has remained the same since the day it was created in 1947. "Glayva" means "very good" in Gaelic - and these were the words spoken by the distiller the first time he tasted the drink.
