Description

Old Overholt whiskey is considered the oldest whiskey still being produced continuously in America, having been produced for the first time in 1810 by Abraham Overholt in West Overton, Pennsylvania.

Old Overholt is currently produced in Clermont, Kentucky, at the Jim Beam distillery, and is aged for three years in American white oak barrels. Since 2020, the cold filtration process has been suspended, so in tasting it has a light amber colour, a light and floral aroma, reminiscent of peach skin and fresh mint, also suggesting hints of tobacco and caramel. The flavour is spicy, with white pepper, apricots and sweet cereal notes, finishing with a touch of bitter herbs.
