2016 Casisano Colombaiolo Brunello di Montalcino Riserva red
Description
A deep, intense ruby with tinges of garnet, it offers a fine, complex nose, in which the fruit combines with a sweet spiciness deriving from its long aging. On the palate it is austere, with ripe, velvety tannins producing an excellent balance between great structure and elegance. The finish is fresh and harmonious.
The Tommasi story begins in 1902 when Giacomo Tommasi decides to acquire a small plot of land in Valpolicella Classica, Veneto region. With commitment and hard work, the following generations could expand the business into five more different regions with the acquisition of seven properties, totalling around 570 hectares of vines.
The Casisano estate has been owned by the Tommasi family since 2015 and extends over 53 undulating hectares in the south-east of Montalcino. With a natural terrace rich in biodiversity, Casisano, lies 480 metres above sea level and its vineyards are divided into 10 distinct plots.
