One of the most prestigious Champagne housesIn 1785, Florens-Louis Heidsieck, a German who had discovered Champagne a few years earlier, founded the company that would become Piper-Heidsieck Champagne. Originally known as Heidsieck & Cie, the company's ambition was to create a cuvée to impress Marie Antoinette, who would become the brand's ambassador at the time. Years later, in 1828, Florens-Louis passed away, and his nephew Christian stepped in to continue the family legacy. Christian's trusted partner and colleague, Henri-Guillaume Piper, joined him and the two succeeded in raising the firm's already solid reputation, going on to secure numerous lucrative royal warrants.
In 1838, after Christian's sudden death in 1835, his widow remarried, curiously, to Henri-Guillaume Piper. Their marriage ensured the connection between the Heidsieck and Piper families, and from this, the name Piper-Heidsieck was born.
Today, Piper-Heidsieck is one of the most prestigious houses of Champagne, not only given all its history and participation in essential historical elements, such as the Second World War but also for the continuation of a legacy that focuses on the creativity and quality of its products.
