2020 Vale de Lobos Syrah Reserva red
Description
This red wine, made from the Syrah grape variety, is produced from hand-harvested and carefully selected grapes. With spontaneous fermentation and a two-week maceration, it is aged for 6 months in French oak barrels. It presents an intense ruby colour and an expressive nose, highlighting aromas of vanilla, spices, and subtle toasted notes. On the palate, it reveals fruit and good structure.
Quinta da Ribeirinha is located in Póvoa de Santarém, in the Tejo region. The passion for wine, and more importantly, the constant dedication to viticulture, has been passed down through the Cândido family for generations. José Cândido, the patriarch, began his career as a farmer from an early age, with wine as his main source of income. Several years later, José’s son Joaquim Cândido, a doctor and passionate about viticulture, took over the family business, expanding the vineyard area, building a winery, and applying scientific methods in the production process. Shortly after, two of Joaquim's children, Mariana and Rui, both with backgrounds in economics and biochemistry, completed the team that now manages the company. The winemaking is under the hands of César Machado.
