Vallegre is a Portuguese company whose shareholders represent the 5th generation of a family deeply rooted in the Douro region, which is dedicated to the production of Port Wine and DOC Douro Table Wine of high quality standard. It has its registered office in Quinta da Vista Alegre, located on the right bank of the Douro, between the mouth of the River Pinhão and Covas do Douro. The origin of this house in wine production is prior to the nineteenth century. This is the conclusion that infers of specialized books on types of strains and some abandoned terraces - the mortórios. Quinta da Vista Alegre was acquired by Cunha Barros family in 1965, posteriorly being integrated in the patrimony of Sociedade Agrícola Barros S.A.. At present, and without denying its past and the wisdom acquired and transmitted from generation to generation, Vallegre is a modern and dynamic company, keeping as its main objective the production of Port Wine and Douro DOC Wines with the highest quality. The wines currently are sold and enjoyed in more than twenty five countries, and the recent awards and distinctions received in several international competitions testify and recognize the quality of the wines produced in this house.
