Carcavelos Howard's Folly, from the 1995 vintage, has a stunning topaz colour. Its complex aromas of dried fruit and spices anticipate an elegant and flavoursome palate. The long, persistent finish is emphasised by a lively acidity, the result of a harmonious blend of the Arinto, Galego Dourado, Boal, Rabo de Ovelha, João de Santarém (also known as Castelão) and Espadeiro grape varieties.

Carcavelos has demarcated in 1908 is situated very close to the tejo river in the Cascais Municipality and part of the state of Oeiras. The fame of wines from Carcavelos lost in time. The Marquis of Pombal, who produced them at his farm in Oeiras liked them so much that D. Joseph I gave them to the court of Peking in 1752. The production of wine was for centuries the most important economic activity in Carcavelos. His secular name, quality and specificity were recognized by the Charter of Law in 1908.
