The history of Favaios is lost in time. Its name comes from "Flávius", an ancient Roman settlement that belonged to the land of Panoías. And its development followed the Dynasties. It is in this town since 1952, in the Douro Demarcated Region, that the Favaios Cooperative Winery has become one of the largest and most recognized in the country, particularly for the unmistakable quality of its Aperitivo and Moscatel of Favaios. The development of this village owes a lot to wine, which had an enormous role in the local economy and architecture. Aware of the increasing demands of the market and the existing internal shortcomings, normal in structures dating back to 1952, Adega de Favaios, decided to invest in the modernization and revitalization of the infrastructure of the Adega Cooperativa de Favaios, currently with over 550 members.
