The legendary Quinta de Roriz has undergone a real qualitative revolution in recent years, returning to occupy its deserved position with the best producers of the Douro and Portugal. This famous, beautiful and historic property of the Douro, belongs, today, to the Symington family, of Graham's Port. Located in the left bank of the Douro, in a natural amphitheater, this Portuguese winery has its vineyards distributed between 125 and 500 meters of altitude. Roriz has more than 200 hectares of vineyards, of which 42 hectares are occupied with vineyards with letter "A". The soils of Quinta de Roriz show remnants of tin blended in a predominantly schist soil, originating from the old mines located in the region, which gives those wines a strong mineral character. Its location, next to the river Douro, providing cooler nights during the grape ripening season, resulting in intense aromatic qualities that are easily identifiable in its wines.
