Lapa dos Gaivões Grande Reserva is produced mostly from the Touriga Nacional grape variety, from acidic and poor soils, but bathed by the microclimate of Serra de São Mamede. This Alentejo wine displays a beautiful garnet-violet colour, closed and intense. The nose is characterised by intense aromas of pennyroyal, black fruit, spices, and toast. In the mouth, it reveals good freshness with polished tannins, complexity, fruit, and chocolate truffle notes with a light mineral finish.

João Teodósio Matos Barbosa, grandson of the founder of Caves Dom Teodósio, started his project in the production of wines, according to a regime of low intervention and organic production, with the introduction of new grape varieties and new blends.

Acquiring properties in the Tejo and Alto Alentejo regions, his legacy has been expanding with organic wines that are authentic and faithful to their terroir.
