Located in the heart of the Dão valley, União Comercial da Beira stands out as one of the oldest wine producers in the region. Founded in 1942 by the Cunha Martins family, UCB was the initiative of the determined and hard-working Alexandre Henriques Martins, a native of the Beira region, who passed on to his descendants not only the ambitious project, but also his deep respect for tradition and unwavering passion for work.

During the 1980s, UCB expanded by acquiring Quinta do Cerrado, located a mere 300 metres from its headquarters in Oliveirinha. In the 1990s, the company transformed apple orchards into vineyards, where the region's main grape varieties were grown. This was followed by the construction of a modern winery and, finally, the development of its own brands, with a range of wines that combine elegance with the typical quality of Dão wines.
