Hailing from the Tagus plains, this wine is born at Quinta São João Batista, and its proximity to the Tagus River and the quality of the soil contribute to the production of excellent wines.

The origin of Quinta de S. João Batista is lost among stories of noble successions, donations to religious orders and other events. It was acquired in 1987 by Caves Dom Teodósio, now part of the Enoport Wines Group, and since then the estate has undergone a major restructuring of the vineyards and the construction of a modern winemaking centre.

Located in the Paul do Boquilobo Biosphere Nature Reserve, recognised by Unesco since 1981 as a World Biosphere Reserve, Quinta de S. João Batista is filled with excellent wines. João Batista is steeped in centuries-old history, represented by the colonial-style manor house, with an architectural ensemble of excellent cellars for ageing wine, and extends over a total area of around 145 hectares, 130 of which are used for planting vines.
