Intense and bright red in colour. It has aromas of red fruit, with hints of spice from the wood. The flavour is rich, with juicy, well-present tannins.

The Quinta da Vacaria, one of the oldest in the region (first record dates from 1616), is located on the banks of the Douro River near the city of Régua, in the heart of the oldest Demarcated Region in the world, the Douro. The Rabelo boats used to dock at the estate quayside to load the casks full of Port wine and transport them to Gaia, at the mouth of the river, where they were sold in bulk to the whole world, leaving behind their hidden identity, since these wooden casks were not even marked with the producer's seal. At their destination, the wine was bottled and labelled with the brand of the foreign merchants who bought them, however, some of them came to gain a lot of prestige.
