The Standish Lamella Stonegarden Vineyard Shiraz is a red wine from Eden Valley in South Australia, sourced from the Angas family’s Hutton Vale Farm vineyard. Planted in the early 1960s with cuttings from the prestigious Mt Edelstone vineyard, this site produces one of the region’s most distinctive expressions of Shiraz.

The grapes are hand-picked and undergo spontaneous fermentation with whole clusters and indigenous yeasts, followed by ageing in barrels. It displays a deep, dense red-purple colour. The nose is powerful and expansive, with notes of cherry, plum, blackberry and other ripe dark fruit, followed by nuances of tea leaves, olives and baking spices.

On the palate, it is broad, rich, deep and concentrated, combining power with elegance. The tannins are smooth and perfectly integrated, leading to a long, warm and balanced finish. A characterful Shiraz with excellent ageing potential.
