2022 Max Ferd. Richter Riesling Dry white

The Riesling grapes, from a recently planted vineyard, were hand-picked. Fermentation was carried out with temperature control in traditional old oak barrels, using indigenous yeast. The result is a dry Riesling Trocken with a broad nose, combining aromas of pear, mirabelle plum, cardamom, and subtle hints of smoke. The finish is intensified by notes of spices and aromatic herbs.

After the first documented purchase of a vineyard plot in Brauneberg on April 17, 1643, the company was founded in 1680, with a winemaking tradition that spans over 300 years of family history, always guided by the motto: "Great wines are made in the vineyard, not in the cellar."

In 1774, the founder's grandson built a beautiful manor with a garden in the architectural style that prevailed at the time. Almost a century later, in 1880, Max Ferd. Richter built a modern winery that houses one of the largest collections of wooden barrels in the Mosel region. The company is currently in its 9th generation of family ownership, with a member of the 10th generation, Constantin MF Richter, actively involved in the business since the summer of 2012.
