Inóspito Chão de Areia Vinhas Velhas white is born from two vineyard parcels over 120 years old, located at more than 500 metres above sea level, on poor, sandy soils of granitic origin. Careful hand harvesting ensures the purity of expression of this singular Douro wine, marked by remarkable freshness. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts is followed by ageing in French oak barrels from the Bertrange forest, where the wine gains complexity and personality. Made from the Rabigato, Viosinho, Gouveio, Códega de Larinho, Síria and Folgasão grape varieties, this wine reveals the minerality, acidity and freshness typical of high-altitude terroir, reflecting the richness and singularity of the Douro’s deeper, less explored landscapes.
