2023 Palmeirim d'Inglaterra Vinhas Velhas white

The Palmeirim d'Inglaterra Vinhas Velhas Branco is a wine of distinct character, sourced from over 80-year-old vines, planted in granite soils with a sandy texture at an altitude of 350 metres. Following manual harvest and stainless steel fermentation, it ages for 6 months on fine lees and an additional 8 months in bottle, ensuring complexity and elegance. The aroma unfolds in layers, revealing citrus fruits, aromatic herbs, white flowers, and stone fruit. On the palate, it is fresh, dry, and textured, with refined acidity and a long finish, making it a gastronomic wine with excellent ageing potential.

The Palmeirim d'Inglaterra vineyards are planted in the Chaves sub-region, between the Tâmega and Ribeira de Oura valleys, in the Trás-os-Montes wine region. The estate’s current owners, whose families have long been rooted in this land, sought to honour their ancestors by producing high-quality wines. Their mission, alongside other activities, is to preserve and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of this unique terroir.
