Quinta do Monte Xisto Oriente is a wine from two small plots exposed to the spring, one with Tinto Cão and the other with Tinta Francisca, which produce a fresh and light wine, not too heavy in colour, with a lot of elegance and spicy notes.

Nicolau de Almeida's Quinta do Monte Xisto stands out in the Upper Douro, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, for its location on the left bank of the River Douro and its Mediterranean/Continental microclimate. Surrounded by the Marão and Montemuro mountains, it offers ideal conditions for distinctive wines.

With a focus on diversity, the family adopts organic farming, promoting a sustainable ecosystem with the inclusion of woodland, olive groves, almond trees and orchards. Preventive practices, such as infusions and natural fertilisation, align the search for self-sufficiency, while viticulture integrates ancestral wisdom and scientific knowledge, in order to find harmony between human practices and nature.
