Don Amado Rústico presents an aromatic nose, highlighting notes of ash, crushed nuts, roasted corn, and salty spices. In the mouth, it shines with its citrus flavours, balanced with notes of caramel and fresh herbs.
In the highlands of southern Mexico, the celebrated Arellanes family has been producing one of the region's most celebrated mezcals since the late 1700s.
This is a production that comes from eleven generations of continuous mezcal distillation with a legendary commitment to craftsmanship and experimentation. Thus, Don Amado is made from the inner parts of the agave, which are roasted on soil and, after being crushed, are fermented together with the piña fibres to obtain the rich character of the agave. The must is double distilled in small traditional ceramic clay pots and then matured in American oak barrels previously used for aging Pedro Domecq brandy.
