Piedmont wines that respect biodiversity and the natural rhythms of the vineyardFounded in 1972 by Aldo Vaira, G. D. Vajra is one of the most respected and authentic estates in Piedmont. Located in Vergne, the highest village in the commune of Barolo, it benefits from high-altitude vineyards that allow for slower ripening and produce wines of remarkable freshness, floral perfume and notable elegance.
Today, the estate is managed by Aldo, Milena and their three children, maintaining an artisanal approach rooted in respect for biodiversity and the natural rhythms of the vineyard. Their philosophy favours harmony and longevity over sheer power, resulting in wines that combine classic Piedmontese structure with an almost ethereal delicacy. Each bottle precisely expresses the character of the terroir and the Nebbiolo grape, in faithful reflection of the family’s guiding principle: making wine is an act of freedom.
