Cantine Maschio
One of Italy's main sparkling wine producersCantine Maschio
One of Italy's main sparkling wine producersIn 1950 a group of 9 wine producers from the Province of Reggio Emilia set up Cantine Cooperative Riunite. Eleven years later, 4 wineries from the Province of Modena followed their lead and founded Consorzio Interprovinciale Vini (CIV).
The company was founded in 1904 by Antonio Maschio, a spirits producer. In 1973 Bonaventura, Antonio's grandson, showed an interest in wine production, developing a passion that led him to create Casa Vinicola Maschio in the same year. At the beginning, production focused on sparkling Prosecco DOC, whose first bottles appeared on the market in 1975, thus beginning the production of sparkling wines. Today, Maschio is one of Italy's leading producers in the sparkling wine sector.
The 'Maschio dei Cavalieri' line is proof of the philosophy of innovation: the careful application of cold extraction techniques enhances the release of flavours and aromas from the raw material and from them produce wines capable of satisfying even the most demanding palates, making them ideal for special occasions.
