概要
The Yamazaki distillery is located near the town of Shimamoto in the Yamazaki Valley, where there are numerous water sources, and where the air humidity is high, providing the ideal environment for whisky production and maturation.
Known for producing a sweet, fruity and spicy style, Yamazaki was initially founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1924, becoming Japan's first commercial distillery.
Today, it is owned by Suntory, which is responsible for one of the largest shares of the single malt market in Japan, exporting its products to more than ten countries.
